Summary
To the up-and-coming kinder literary agent who wants to change the world:
Our children are becoming polarized, politicized, and culturally unhealthy. Subliminal and sweet, “I’m an American?” is a very simple, short, picture book for American children that is meant to be read out loud. It is apolitical, ahistorical, acultural, non-gender specific, non-racial, and non-ideological. American children struggle with identity. Persons all over the world, many with mixed ancestry or not, must feel similarly. The story is less important than the message, which is optimistic, kind, and deeply aspirational.
I care deeply about my own children, as you must about yours, and I wrote the book during the pandemic as a passion project for the children in my extended family who, like those among your family, are all different, and who are also, as a matter of fact, all American. When it comes to your children, how do you want them to feel about themselves? My personal guarantee: Your children will SMILE!
I believe the message that my book can address, and I truly believe the right team can turn this into a commercial blockbuster. I’m looking to work with a literary agent who is an expert on kinder publishing, and who can transform a simple book’s message into a brand that can branch out, perhaps internationally, with other stories and iterations.
