Harcourt to Up Print Run

For Penn Warren’s Classic

NEW YORK, NY/4/3/06—Harcourt is going back to press for 75,000 additional copies of both a movie tie-in edition and a classic edition of All the King’s Men, by Robert Penn Warren. The big push is in anticipation of the delayed release of the movie version of Penn Warren’s classic novel.

Harcourt originally shipped 50,000 classic editions and 125,000 move tie-in editions last November to meet the December 2005 release date of the movie by Sony Pictures Entertainment. But Sony delayed the movie release until September 2006, apparently believing the story wasn’t strong enough to get an Oscar nomination and taking the story back to the cutting room.

The updated movie version, starring Sean Penn, Jude Law, and Kate Winslet, has now been hailed as a possible Oscar contender for 2007. The renewed excitement has caused Harcourt to beef up its print run for existing editions. In addition, the publisher will create a second tie-in edition with updated art and release the title in early September this year.
