NAL Launches
New Mystery
Imprint, Obsidian

NEW YORK, NY/4/4/07-New American Library, a division of Penguin Group USA, will launch the new Obsidian Mysteries imprint this fall, specializing only in mystery titles. The new imprint will be managed by senior editor Kristen Weber, who reports to NAL publisher Kara Welsh. Inaugural hardcover originals will include Trashed by Alison Gaylin, to be released in September, followed in October by Murder She Wrote: Panning for Murder by Jessica Fletcher and Donald Bain. The imprint also will publish a paperback series based on the CBS TV show, Criminal Minds.

Kristen Weber joined NAL after having served under the late Sara Ann Freed, award winning editor-in-chief of then Warner’s Mysterious Press. Weber came to NAL just one year ago.
