In this exclusive Authorlink AUDIO/SLIDESHOW, Pegasus Publisher Claiborne Hancock talks about the release of Alexandre Dumas’s rediscovered manuscript, The Last Cavalier. The Last Cavalier, a long lost manuscript written by the late famed French author Alexandre Dumas will be released in September in the United States by Pegasus Books. The work was discovered two years ago in the National Library in Paris by scholar Claude Schopp and was published in French in 2005. The Pegasus release will be the first U.S. edition. Alexandre Dumas, who died in 1870, is best known for The Count of Monte Cristo, The Three Musketeers, and The Man in the Iron Mask. Claiborne Hancock founded Pegasus Books in 2005. The press now publishes about 40 titles per year from its New York offices. Here, Claiborne talks about his successes as an independent publisher as well as the Dumas release.
