NEW YORK, NY/AUTHORLINK NEWS/August 17, 2010—Mollly Stern has departed her post as editor-in-chief at Penguin/Viking Penguin Group to become senior vice president and publisher of Crown and Broadway Books at Random House. She will report to Crown Publishing Group president and publisher Maya Mavjee at Random House.

In her new role, Stern will manage general interest hardcover trade fiction and nonfiction publishing programs for Crown and Broadway, focusing on development of the group’s narrative nonfiction program. She will also work on expanding the Crown fiction program. Reporting directly to Stern are v-p, editorial director Charlie Conrad; v-p, executive editors John Glusman and Rachel Klayman; senior editors Sean Desmond and Vanessa Mobley; and editor Christine Pride.
