Warning to Authors

Press-Tige Publishing

Company Owner

Charged With Fraud

ALBANY, NY/06/13/05—Federal prosecutors have charged Martha Ivery, age 56, of Catskill, with 17 counts of fraud against would-be authors, according to a report by Associated Press. Authorities say the woman presented herself to writers as the publisher of Press-TIGE Publishing Company, and also posed as a literary agent under the name of Kelly O’Donnell.

The indictment shows that Ivery charged pre-publication fees from 1995 to 2002, but never published the books, then filed for bankruptcy. She then allegedly re-opened the same operation under the name New Millennium Publishing House and continued to solicit fees. She has pleaded not guilty in U.S District Court in Albany.
