For Next Big Seller

AUSTIN, TX/7/1/06—Tiny Austin, TX publisher Bard Press is about to release Little Black Book of Connections by Jeffrey Gitomer. It’s the follow up book to Gitomer’s first title, the wildly successful Little Red Book of Selling, which now has a half million copies in print.

The second book, about networking and building relationships, is due for release in September and will have an initial print run of 125,000 copies, followed a month later by a second run of 50,000 copies.

Bard Press is known for producing cutting-edge business books that sell extremely well. Most of its business books sell five times the average national sell-through rate (5,000 copies, according to Publishers Marketing Association). Bard’s titles usually sell in excess of 15,000 copies each.

The company has had several books on the business bestseller lists, including Play to Win, The Wizard of Ads and Customer Satisfaction Is Worthless. Bard also produces and packages books for major New York publishers, and helps start-up publishers.

The small house is run by founder and publisher Ray Bard, who focuses on high quality packaging and aggressive marketing. Since its founding in 1986, the Press has released about 26 titles.
