Q 2 Trade Sales

Drop by 3 Percent

NEW YORK, NY/12/2/03—John Wiley & Sons has reported a three percent decline in overall revenue for the second quarter. Income fell to $228.9 million for the period.

The company attributed the drop to lower backlist sales of business and consumer technology titles. Losses were offset by strong sales in culinary and architectural titles, and in fewer returns.

Wiley plans to release a “For Dummies” series which it will sell a special agreement with Target Stores, as well as through other outlets.
