Former Random House

Editor Named Publisher

Of New Warner Imprint

NEW YORK, NY/07/22/05—Former Random House Editor-in-Chief Jonathan Karp, age 41, has been named publisher and editor-in-chief of Warner Books new hardcover imprint, Warner Twelve.

Karp, who spent 16 years at Random House, will personally select, acquire, edit, and oversee publication of each book on the Warner Twelve list, which will include a mix of fiction and nonfiction. He will also look for projects to develop from Warner’s magazine and entertainment divisions.

Warner Twelve will release one title per month, beginning in the spring of 2007.

His own authors from Random House, who potentially could have first crack at the Warner imprint, include Matthew Pearl (Dante ), Jon McCain and Mark Salter (Faith of My Fathers), Laura Hillenbrand (Seabiscuit) and Donald Trump (How to Get Rich).
