NEW YORK, NY/1/21/04—The National Book Critics Circle has announced its shortlist for the 2004 NBCC awards, which will be presented on March 4.
The fiction shortlist includes:

Studs Terkel will be given The Ivan Sandrof Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Nona Balakian Citation for Excellence in Reviewing will go to Scott McLemee from the Chronicle of Higher Education.
