Irish Magazine
Offers Sci/Fi/Fan
Story Award

Albedo One, The Irish Magazine of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror, has announced its second annual Aeon Award for short fiction for 2006-2007. There will be a cash grand prize and a guarantee of publication.

Cash prizes will be offered to the top three stories, which will then compete for the grand prize.

First deadline for submission of stories is September 30th 2006. Every three months thereafter, a panel of judges will choose the best story submission for the quarter and these will be short listed for the Albedo One Award. The overall winner will be chosen from the highest-ranking stories on the shortlist by renowned science fiction, fantasy and horror author Ian Watson.

Entries should be no more than 8,000 words and must be typed, double spaced on one side of A4 (or equivalent) paper, and submitted to: Aeon Award, 8 Bachelor’s Walk, Dublin 1, Republic of Ireland.

Alternatively, entrants may submit their work by e-mail to fraslaw@yahoo.co.uk. E-mail entries must be placed in the body of the e-mail. Attachments will not be opened for system security reasons. Multiple entries are allowed, but must be submitted separately.

Shortlists and final results will be published in Albedo One magazine and on the Albedo One website: www.albedo1.com.

Entries must not have been previously published. Shortlisted stories may not be published elsewhere while judging proceeds.

All submissions must be accompanied by an entry fee of 5 euro or £4 sterling or $6 dollars (preferably in notes).
