Of 2006 Exhibit

For the first time in its history, BookExpo America (BEA), the largest and most important exhibition for the publishing industry, will make its programming available to the public. The 2006 BookExpo event was held May 19-21 in Washington, D.C.

BookExpoCast.com, the official BEA podcast, is being presented by HarperCollins . The first podcast covers the BEA’s opening night keynote by Tim Russert, host of Meet the Press and author of Wisdom of Our Fathers: Lessons and Letters from Daughters and Sons ( Random House).

With these free podcasts subscribers will be able to hear publishing leaders discuss how new Internet tools are changing the book business from programs they presented at BEA. Users will hear “Upfront & Unscripted” intimate one-on-one interviews with publishing, Web and marketing gurus, as well as interviews with favorite authors and speakers.

To subscribe, just go to www.bookexpocast.com and type your email address in the column to the left and hit “enter” and once you confirm your address, you will start receiving emails when the first podcasts , effective the week of May 22.

And then, you’ll be able to listen to our podcasts from here on your computer, or download them to your iPod or favorite player, or transfer them to your cell phone. And, users will receive an email everytime a new podcast episode is ready.

BEA will podcast approximately 24 events from the BEA show, and will release them over the subsequent two months.
