Talent, Expands Scope

NEW YORK, NY/10/5/06—Sourcebooks, Inc., based in Napperville, Illinois, has now opened a second office in Manhattan and is expanding its publishing scope by adding new editors to its acquisitions team. The growing company’s New York City office is located at 390 5th Avenue.

The Sourcebooks team, headed by Hillel Black, editor-in-chief, now includes Shana Drehs, senior editor, who came from Crown to focus on a wide range of nonfiction and commercial women’s fiction; Todd Green, editor, Sourcebooks Mediafusion (mixed media); Lyron Bennett, children’s editor; Michael Bowen, Sphinx legal imprint; Bethany Brown, managing Sourcebooks new Jabberwocky children’s imprint; Peter Lynch, acquiring commercial fiction and nonfiction. Deborah Werksman is acquiring both nonfiction and books for Sourcebooks Casablanca, the new romance line which launches in spring 2007.

Sourcebooks is acquiring a wide range of commercial and literary fiction, from thrillers, mysteries and suspense to sagas, love stories, and historical fiction. Nonfiction interests range fro history, biography, science and business, to medicine and relationship books.
