Aug 9- Aug 15, 2010 Edition Pat Conroy to Announce Book Award Finalists

NEW YORK, NY/AUTHORLINK NEWS/August 10, 2 010—Acclaimed author Pat Conroy will make the announcement for this year’s National Book Award finalists. The short list for fiction, nonfiction, poetry and young people’s literature will be revealed October 13 at the Flannery O’Connor Childhood Home in Savannah, Georgia.

Conroy is best known for his novels, including The Great Santini (1976), The Prince of Tides (1986), and most recently, South of Broad (2009). He is also the author of two nonfiction works: The Water Is Wide (1972) and My Losing Season (2002). His latest project, My Reading Life (due out in November, 2010), is a chronicle and celebration of the books that have shaped him.
