Nov 8 – Nov 14, 2010 Edition Crowd of 2,500 Greets President Bush at Book Signing for Decision Points

DALLAS/AUTHORLINK NEWS/Nov. 9, 2010–A crowd of more than 2,500 fans greeted former U.S. President George W. Bush early Tuesday morning at the Borders store on Preston Road in Dallas for his inaugural public book signing of his highly anticipated memoir Decision Points.

President Bush arrived at the Borders store 1 hour in advance of the 9:00 a.m. announced event start-time, and personally signed copies for 1,300 customers, some of whom had arrived at the store as early as noon Monday. The number of customers whose books the President signed was 500 more than the guaranteed 800 that had been communicated.

The President also provided 500 signed bookplates for distribution to customers who had purchased Decision Points and attended the event, but whose copies the President was unable to sign due to time constraints. Staff members distributed a flyer to remaining customers in line providing instructions for obtaining a signed bookplate from the President at a later date.

By 11:00 a.m., the Borders store had sold virtually all of the copies of Decision Points that it had ordered for the event. Decision Points, a chronicle of the fourteen most critical and historic decisions in the life and public service of the 43rd President of the United States, was published today by Crown Publishers with a first printing of 1.5 million copies.

The former President is scheduled to appear on “The Oprah Winfrey Show”and “Hannity” later today.
