According to MARKET PULSE, Barnes & Noble Inc. has laid off staff in the engineering department at its money losing Nook department, according to reports on Monday. The company did not say how many jobs were cut but the move is in line with its restructuring effort, Reuters reported. Nook-related revenue fell 60.5% during the holiday season, the news agency said. Shares of Barnes & Noble jumped 9% to $16.08 on the news.
