Ballantine Acquires
Unusual Vampire
Trilogy by Cronin
NEW YORK, NY/7/23/07–Ballantine has acquired a new trilogy by well-known literary novelist Justin Cronin for $3.75 million. The trilogy, a departure from his PEN Hemingway Award-winning debut literary novel Mary and O’Neil, centers on a viral pandemic that transforms humans into vampires. The first book in the series will be titled The Passage and will be released in summer 2009.
Mark Tavani was the acquiring editor at Random House.
