Categorized as “New Age”, the author manages skillfully to show that New Age is really “old age”, taking the reader back to when America was known as Turtle Island and Native American Indian mythology predicted the coming of the “light-skinned people . . . in great canoes powered by huge white wings . . .”. The legend warned that the technology the pale-skin people would develop could damage the earth’s ozone level, destroy the forests, pollute the waters and air, and sicken and kill the wildlife. The legend also taught how Rainbow Warriors can cleanse and heal the earth and its people of all races and creeds.

McFadden doesn’t stop with the past but moves the reader along with the Native American Indians as they struggle to make their message heard through the eras and fulfill the prophecy by knocking four times at the door of the House of Mica or as we know it, the United Nations.

Legend of the Rainbow Warriors is much more than a “New Age” book; it is a masterful blend of history, politics, ecology, and self-help that will appeal to New Age thinkers, environmentalists, and all those who are “open-minded”.
