Janet Silver Joins
Nan A.Talese
After HMH Shuffle

NEW YORK, NY/2/28/2008–Janet Silver, who spent 24 years at Houghton Mifflin, most recently as vice president and publisher, has joined Doubleday’s Nan A. Talese division as editor at large. Silver, who lost her job as a result of Harcourt’s acquisition by Houghton Mifflin, now Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

Ms. Silver has worked with such authors as Philip Roth, Cynthia Ozick, Jonathan Safran Foer, and other well-known writers.

Silver’s new boss at Doubleday, Nan A. Talese, said “Over the course of her distinguished career, Janet has nurtured an impressive array of talented writers, providing them the level of support and care their work so richly deserved. . . I am thrilled to welcome her as a colleague.”
