March 25 – April 1, 2010 Edition Ingram Wire App Launches to Library Market

La VERGNE, TN/Authorlink news/March 23, 2010–Ingram Library Services Inc., an Ingram Content Group Inc. company, yesterday announced the launch of the Ingram Wire, a downloadable desktop application, to libraries.

Following the success of the Ingram Wire for retailers, Ingram is now rolling out the direct-to-desktop application to its library customers.

"Librarians have been on the forefront of information technology and tools, and the Ingram Wire is just one more way we can help our customers stay ahead of books and trends in the digital age,” said Rich Rosy, Vice President and General Manager, Ingram Library Services and Institutional Solutions. "Delivering relevant book news and collection development information directly to our customer's desktop saves them valuable time that can be better spent serving the needs of their patrons."

Through the user-friendly downloadable desktop app, built on Adobe® AIR™ and compatible with both PC and Mac, librarians receive stock news on fast-moving products specific to their assigned distribution center, alerts on top awards and breaking events, as well as “backorder now” messages to ensure they are among the first for allocations. From the desktop, users can click directly to ipage®, Ingram’s e-business tool for libraries, to place orders. The Ingram Wire desktop application is 100% opt-in, and messages are prompted by business need, not advertising. Customers can download the application at www.ingramwire.com.
