Harper Studio Team Shaping Up

The new Harper Studio imprint at HarperCollins is staffing up under the direction of Publisher Robert S. (Bob) Miller. Debbie Stier joins Studio as senior vice president and associate publisher, coming to her new post from Morrow Avon. In her new job, she will direct digital marketing development for Harper’s general books group and will also mange publicity and marketing and be liaison with the sales department for Studio. Stier will report to Carolyn Pittis. Julia Cheiffetz has been named as a senior editor at the imprint.

Studio will implement new strategies including lower advances, sharing income with authors, and disallowing retailer returns.
