Buyer for School
NEW YORK, NY/2/17/06Harcourt Education is seeking a buyer for its its global elementary library operations. Up for sale are the Heinemann, Raintree and Heineman/Raintree Classroom divisions that serve the k-8 market. Harcourt will retain rights to the Heinemann name. Excluded from the sale are the educational and reference publisher Greenwood/Heinemann and Harcourt Education International in Oxford, England. The units to be sold are located in Chicago, Oxford and Melbourne, Australia.
In announcing plans to sell the units, Harcourt said it wants to keep focused on its education business and on the classroom and supplemental markets.
Heinemann-Raintree is a leading nonfiction-based publisher that has established a reputation for setting new standards of quality in compelling, curriculum-based educational materials for the PreK-Secondary library and classroom markets.
