Cochran Steps Down
At Books-a-Million

BIRMINGHAM, AL–Authorlink News/03/13/09–Books-A-Million, Inc. announced March 13 that Sandra B. Cochran has resigned from her position of President, Chief Executive Officer and Director to accept a position with Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. the announcement came just three days before BAM was schedule to report its year-end performance for Fiscal 2009.

Clyde B. Anderson will continue as the Company’s Chairman and will become the Company’s Chief Executive Officer.

Books-A-Million is one of the nation’s leading book retailers and sells on the Internet at www.booksamillion.com. The Company presently operates 220 stores in 21 states and the District of Columbia. The Company operates under the trade names Books-A-Million, Books & Co. and Bookland.
