Black Leaves

CDS, Bacco

Returns as VP

NEW YORK, NY/7/31/06—Steve Black, president and co-founder of CDS with Random House veteran Glibert Perlman, is leaving CDS, fulfilling an agreement to stay for one year through a transition after Perseus Books Group acquired the company. Sabrina Bracco will return to the company from Bear Stearns to run CDS, the distribution arm of Perseus as vice president for client services. She will report to Perseus CEO David Steinberger, as does CDS Books publisher Roger Cooper.

Bacco has previously served in several capacities at Perseus, including a post as director of sales operations for Perseus.

Black simply said of his leaving that he felt it was time to move on, but he plans to remain in the publishing field. Pearlman left CDS shortly after the company was acquired.

Perseus focuses on serving as a distributor for independent publishers.
