Opens New Store

In Pittsburgh

Barnes & Noble Inc. has opened its ninth Pittsburgh-area store, this one adjacent to the South Hills Village Mall. The South Hills Barnes & Noble opened April 13, following a preview party the night before. The new store will have a number of features other than books, including CDs, DVDs magazines and more.

Barnes & Noble also operates two other stores in Pittsburgh.

NEW YORK, NY/04/01/05—Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS), the world’s largest bookseller, opened a new 35,600-square-foot bookstore on April 13 in Brookfield Square at 95 North Moorland Road, Brookfield, Wisconsin. Concurrently, the existing store at 16220 West Bluemound Road, Brookfield, Wisconsin, will close. The new store will stock close to 200,000 book, music, DVD and magazine titles and include a cafe serving Starbucks coffee. The new Brookfield Barnes & Noble will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, and employ approximately 120 people from the community.

The public was invited to a Preview Night Party at the new Brookfield Barnes & Noble on Tuesday, April 12. A portion of the Preview Night sales will benefit the Elmbrook School District.
