To Be Named
Grand Central
NEW YORK, NY/3/28/07-Warner Books has changed its name to Grand Central Publishing and the new moniker and logo will be officially introduced at BookExpo America in June 2007. Grand Central will publish its first titles under the new name this fall, including new works by Nicholas Sparks, Rosie ODonnell and Stephen Colbert.
The name change follows Time Warner Book Groups acquisition by Hachette Livre, and will better describe the imprint when it moves out of the Time Life Building in April to a new location at 237 Park Avenue (near Manhattans Grand Central Station). The name change was mandated by Time Warner, Inc. as part of the sale to Hachette.
Lagardère, the parent company that owns Hachette Book Group USA (via its subsidiary Hachette Livre), is positioning itself to take a leading role in creating broad international digital content portfolios. The company also owns half of romance publisher Harlequin France, a subsidiary of Canadas Harlequin Enterprises, Inc.
