Threshold To Publish
President Reagan’s Project
NEW YORK, NY/Authorlink News/04/23/09–Louise Burke, Threshold Editions’ Executive Vice President and Publisher, announced last week that Threshold will publish PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN’S INITIAL ACTIONS PROJECT (IAP), with a special introduction by renowned economist Arthur B. Laffer, Ph.D.
With the current economic crisis, every method of recovery needs to be studied. Until now, the only way to access the IAP was by visiting either the Reagan National Library or the National Archives. Written by key White House staff members, the report provided the Reagan Administration with an outline on how to handle economic crises by leading with actions, not reactions. Art Laffer, who served on Reagan’s Economic Policy Advisory Board, explains how the IAP remains relevant and how its tenets can be applied today.
“When people fail to plan, they plan to fail,” explains Art Laffer. “Reagan’s Initial Actions Project was the epitome of careful, deliberative, and purposive pre-planning to avoid making policies as a reaction to events or in a panic state. Unfortunately, the preponderance of governments, both here and abroad, have failed to plan.”
Arthur B. Laffer, Ph.D., is the founder and chairman of Laffer Associates, an economic research and consulting firm. A member of President Reagan’s Economic Policy Advisory Board for both of his two terms, he popularized the Laffer Curve and triggered a world-wide tax-cutting movement in the 1980s. Dr. Laffer received a B.A. in economics from Yale University and received a MBA and Ph.D. in economics from Stanford University. He is a co-author of THE END OF PROSPERITY (Threshold Editions).
PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN’S INITIAL ACTIONS PROJECT will be published first as an eBook on April 28, 2009 and then as a printed book on May 26, 2009.
