Connect with the Festival on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to Win Coveted Prizes
The Southern Festival of Books: A Celebration of the Written Word continues to stay relevant in the digital age and engage with fans of the festival by hosting social media contests. Through Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, Festival lovers can participate in online contests to win prizes at the 26thanniversary event taking place on Legislative Plaza in Nashville the weekend of Oct. 10-12.
The @SoFestofBooks Twitter account is once again featuring the Trivia Tuesday Contest, or #SFBTriviaTuesday. Each Tuesday leading up to the Festival, @SoFestofBooks will release clues – every hour, on the hour – about a featured author. As clues are revealed, followers will guess the author for a chance to win a Speed Reader Pass. To SFB goers, this pass is the golden ticket, ensuring them a prime spot in the book-signing line for the author of their choice.
The social media fun continues each week with a Throwback Thursday Contest, or #SFBtbt, on the Southern Festival of Books Facebook page. Every Thursdayleading up to the festival, a Throwback Thursday prompt will be posted on the Facebook page. Fans are urged to share memories from past festivals by responding to the weekly Throwback Thursday post with a creative, sentimental or laugh-out-loud funny response for a chance to win a gift certificate to the Festival merchandise tent.
Twitter Trivia Tuesdays and Facebook Throwback Thursdays are merely a warmup for the real deal, as Humanities Tennessee is excited to announce the return of the Instagram Scavenger Hunt. Festival programs will include a list of items to find and photograph, and participants will upload their photo hunt entries to Instagram with the hashtag #SFBphotohunt. At the end of the weekend, participants with the most entries will win a free item from the merchandise tent.
