Perseus Books

Predicts 9 Percent

Sales Growth in ’05

NEW YORK, NY/08/21/04—The Perseus Books Group is projecting a nine percent sales increase for the current year, according to an employee memo by CEO David Steinberger, who said the company plans to grower faster than the industry norm.

The privately-held company is not required to report quarterly financials, but Steinberger, who took over the helm earlier this year, is eager to show results. His first task as the new CEO was to change Perseus’ fiscal year to begin July 1, moving the Christmas selling season to the second fiscal quarter.

Perseus beat budget projections in July and August, and Steinberger indicated the company is “off to a strong start” for the new fiscal year.
