Receives Baton Rouge
Literary Award
BATON ROUGE, LA/12/11/07–The Baton Rouge Area Foundation has named Olympia Vernon the winner of the first annual Ernest J. Gaines Award for Literary Excellence. Ms. Vernon is honored for her novel, A Killing in This Town. Her work was chosen from 29 entries across the country. She will receive a $10,000 award and commemorative sculpture for her achievement.
