May 16 – May 19, 2011 Edition Madoff’s Daughter-in-Law to Write Inside Story for Blue Rider Press

New York , NY/AUTHORLINK NEWS/May 18, 2011–Bernard Madoff’s daughter-in-law, Stephanie Madoff-Mack, widow of Mark Madoff, will tell the first genuine inside account from a family member who has lived through – and survived – one of the great public scandals and private tragedies of our time. In an intimate and heartbreaking memoir, Ms. Madoff-Mack’s yet-to-be-titled book will be published by Blue Rider Press, an imprint of Penguin Group (USA), it was announced today by David Rosenthal, President and Publisher of the imprint. Mr. Rosenthal negotiated the agreement for world rights with Steve Troha of Folio Literary Management, with Blue Rider Press Senior Editor Sarah Hochman to edit. Publication is planned for December 2011.

“Stephanie’s story is heartbreaking, compelling and ultimately courageous,” said Mr. Rosenthal.

The book will be a riveting personal story that begins behind closed doors as Bernard Madoff’s Ponzi scheme unravels and Stephanie and Mark Madoff strive to make a fresh start for their family. Disaster strikes two years after Bernard Madoff’s arrest when Mark commits suicide. With this book, Stephanie is seeking to give her husband a voice, have an accurate portrayal of who Mark was and move forward in her new life as a single mother of two young children.

The newly-named Blue Rider Press, an imprint of Penguin Group (USA), was launched in November 2010 and will publish an eclectic mix of hardcover fiction and nonfiction titles, reflecting President and Publisher David Rosenthal’s wide range of interests, including suspense fiction, popular biography, literary novels, humor, music, and contemporary politics.
