Loft Director Myers to Retire

Linda Myers, director of the well-known Minneapolis-based reading and writing center, will retire in October 2007 after some 13 years there. The Loft was founded in 1974 in a loft above the Minneapolis bookstore, Open Book. It is now the nation’s largest and most comprehensive literary center, offering programs and services for readers and writers. The mission of the Loft has been to foster the artistic development of individual writers and an audience for literature. A national search will be underway for Meyers’ successor.
