Dec 6 – Dec 12, 2010 Edition Hochman Named Senior Editor at New Penguin Imprint

NEW YORK, NY/AUTHORLINK NEWS/December 8, 2010–Sarah Hochman has been appointed Senior Editor at David Rosenthal’s new yet to be named imprint at Penguin Group (USA), it was announced today by Mr. Rosenthal. She will begin January 10, 2011.

Ms. Hochman was previously a Senior Editor at Simon & Schuster. She has acquired and edited a wide range of literary and suspense fiction as well as narrative nonfiction (including biography and memoir, history, humor, drama and poetry). Among the recent books she has edited are I.O.U. by John Lanchester and Savages by Don Winslow, both New York Times bestsellers, and The Anthologist by Nicholson Baker, a 2009 New York Times Notable Book. Ms. Hochman has also edited books by such bestselling authors as Robert Littell, Jed Mercurio, Marisa Silver, Jean Thompson, Bruce Wagner, and David Rabe. Prior to her tenure at Simon & Schuster, Ms. Hochman worked at W magazine, The New York Observer, and Esquire. She is a graduate of New York University.

It was announced in November that David Rosenthal is joining Penguin Group (USA) as President and Publisher of a new general trade imprint, yet to be named. He begins on January 10, 2011 and he will report to Susan Petersen Kennedy, President of Penguin Group (USA). The new imprint will publish an eclectic mix of hardcover fiction and nonfiction titles, reflecting Mr. Rosenthal’s wide range of interests, including suspense fiction, popular biography, literary novels, humor, music, and contemporary politics.
