Farley Named
Permanent Head
of Henry Holt NEW YORK, NY/6/3/2008–Dan Farley has been named permanent president and publisher of Henry Holt & Company. He has been heading the company as interim president since February, when John Sterling left to become executive vice president at Holt’s parent company Macmillan. He will spend part of his time in his home town of San Diego and the other part of the time in New York City.

Among his first tasks as publisher will be to hire a new editor-in-chief at Holt.

Farley was president and CEO of Harcourt before Harcourt merged with Houghton Mifflin and he left the company. He took over in the interim role February 25, 2008.
