Brian Belfiglio Named Scribner, VP, Director of Publicity

NEW YORK, NY/7/30/07­Susan Moldow, Executive Vice President and Publisher of Scribner announced today that Brian Belfiglio has been named Vice President, Director of Publicity of Scribner, effective August 14.

Belfiglio was most recently the publicity director for the literary public relations firm, Hilsinger-Mendelson East. Prior to joining Hilsinger-Mendelson, Mr. Belfiglio was Director of Marketing for Workman, where he handled the campaigns for the 1,000 Places to See Before You Die titles. Before joining Workman, Belfiglio was a publicity director for three imprints at Crown, where he worked with Dave Barry, Deepak Chopra, James McPherson, Chris Bohjalian, Jeffrey Moussaieff Masson, Ann Coulter, Michael Moore, Charles Schwab, Johnny Damon, the Onion, and Jill Conner Browne, the “Sweet Potato Queen.”

“Brian’s long and diverse experience at generating high profile publicity for books of all stripes make him a perfect fit for Scribner,” said Susan Moldow. “We look forward to his arrival.”

He began his career as a publicity assistant at HarperCollins. Mr. Belfiglio is a graduate of Hamilton College.

Belfiglio replaces Elizabeth Hayes, who is leaving to work with Jonathan Demme as associate producer on his upcoming film, “Dancing with Shiva.”
