Acquires Book Units
from Trails Media
MILWAUKEE, WI/1/19/06Big Earth Publishing L.L.C. has acquired Trails Books and Prairie Oak Press from Trails Media Group Inc., the Black Earth publisher of Wisconsin Trails, Corporate Report Wisconsin and other publications. The item was reported in the Milwaukee Business Journal.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Big Earth, based in Neenah, Wisconsin, publishes nonfiction books on the great outdoors, sports, music, adventure, travel and food and spirits. Trails Books is a publisher of nonfiction books focused on the Midwest. Its addition will complement Big Earth’s books about the American West, said Big Earth president Dave Oskin.
Prairie Oak Press publishes sports, gardening, travel and cookbooks aimed at the Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois and Indiana markets.
Oskin said Big Earth Publishings strategy includes more acquisitions and is looking for opportunities in other regions.
