NBN Gets 13 New Clients

CALIFORNIA/3/28/07-After losing its bid to purchase bankrupt PGW, National Book Network has picked up 13 former PGW customers, and has already begun to ship inventory from its California warehouse. The list of small publishers who opted to place their business with NBN instead of remaining with PGW, includes: Bell Springs Publishing, Brick Tower Press, Bristol Park Books, Cadmus, ExPress, IBooks, Learning Express, Moonlight, Para Publishing, Planning Shop, Smart Publications and Tech News.
NBN had offered publishers who were clients of insolvent PGW 85 cents on the dollar for their inventory, which was up for grabs in the bankruptcy court fray, but NBN lost its bid to Perseus Books Group.
In other bankruptcy news, Cook Inlet Book Co., Anchorage, Alaska, has closed its doors after 14 years in business. Owners Lynn and Ron Dixon have filed for bankruptcy, according to the Anchorage Daily News and a subsequent story in Shelf Awareness. Court documents show that Cook Inlet Book’s owes just over 200 credits between $100,000 and $1 million, the News said.
