New York Times bestselling author Rebecca York (aka Ruth Glick) talks with Authorlink at the recent 40th anniversary Oklahoma Writers Conference about her triumph over Dyslexia to become a highly successful novelist. Bestselling novelist Rebecca York has written 115 novels and has more than 10 million books in print in 21 languages. But succeeding has not come easily. In the process, she had to battle against Dyslexia, a disorder that causes difficulty with written language, affecting reading, spelling, and writing. She believes her good fortune in publishing is due to "persistence." Since childhood, she has loved making up stories of adventure, romance and suspense. But she never assumed she could be an author; she couldn't spell. Her life changed with the invention of the word processor and spell checker–and the help of her husband, Norman Glick, who spots spelling errors immediately. Rebecca writes paranormal romantic thrillers for Berkley and romantic thrillers for Harlequin Intrigue. Her many awards include a Bronze Telly Award for the book trailer for NEW MOON (Berkley, March 2007). Rebecca's newest novel, Ghost Moon, was released by Berkley in May 2008. Eternal Moon will follow in April 2009. At Harlequin Intrigue, her novel Soldier Caged, will be released in July 2008, and two more books are due in October 2008 and June 2009. –Doris Booth ©Authorlink.com All Rights Reserved
