AAP Offers Audio/Visual Info on Google Settlement
The Association of American Publishers this week, compiled an audio visual resource to help authors and publishers clarify and expand their understanding of the Google Settlement. Among the materials are:
A video explaining in simple terms what the Settlement means for the general public was produced by Google and provides an excellent overview. At a groundbreaking forum on “Equalizing Access to Knowledge” held at Howard University in late July, civil rights, academic, and library community leaders spoke about what the Settlement means in terms of social justice. The Settlement’s implications for publishers was the subject of a program at BookExpo America and a webinar co-sponsored by Publishers Weekly held in late July. Video excerpts of the BookExpo discussion and a complete download of the audio webinar are available.
