You on a Diet Sells Out

At 1.5 million Copies,

More Books on the Way

NEW YORK, NY/11/15/06—You: On a Diet: The Owner’s Manual for Waist Management—the latest in the book series, YOU: The Owner’s Manual—climbed to #1 on Amazon.com this week, and made The New York Times’ Hardcover Advice list for the week of November 19. The already successful authors Michael Roizen and Mehmet Oz got an extra boost from their appearance November 2 on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

The book, which was released on October 31, has already sold 1.5 million copies, according to Free Press publisher Martha Levin. As a result of the buying frenzy, publisher Free Press/Simon & Schuster is going back to the press to print longer runs. Many online and brick and mortar stores are already out of stock on the book, but additional copies are expected to be in stores by mid-November.

In their latest book, Roizen and Oz focus on helping readers shave extra inches off their waists by giving consumers knowledge about how body fat is stored and burned. They say they will show readers how to “crack the code on true and lifelong waist management.

You: On a Diet is part information, part motivation and change-your-life action. The physician team redefines what a healthy figure is, then takes the reader through an under-the skin tour of the organs that influence body size and health.
