Weisbach to Guide

Miramax Through

Transition to Disney

NEW YORK, NY/04/07/05—Miramax Books has named Rob Weisbach president and chief executive officer. He will guide the company through its gradual takeover by Walt Disney Co. For the next two years, the company will be jointly managed by Disney executives, and Harvey and Bob Weinstein, who are relinquishing control of Miramax on September 30, 2007.

In the interim, Rob Weisbach will head the unit as CEO and publish books already contracted. Weisbach also will contract with authors for the Weinsteins’ new publishing company, which probably will be called WeinsteinCo. Weisbach joins the company after having served as an editor at large at Simon & Schuster.
