June 1 – June 17, 2012 Edition Shawn Morin named COO at Ingram Content NASHVILLE, TN/June 19, 2012 – John R. Ingram, Chairman and CEO of Ingram Content Group Inc., announced today that Shawn Morin will be the company’s new Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately.

Mr. Morin joined the company in 2009 and has served as the Chief Information Officer since that time. As Chief Operating Officer, reporting to Mr. Ingram, Mr. Morin will now be the executive in charge of managing the company’s commercial activities, systems, and operations. This includes leadership of Ingram’s divisions that serve publishers, libraries, booksellers and educators worldwide, as well as the information technology systems that support Ingram’s services to these valued customers, Mr. Ingram said.

The company’s finance, legal and human resources functions will continue to report to Mr. Ingram.

“As much as we’re a distribution business, we’re also a technology business,” Mr. Ingram said, “and Shawn Morin is a businessman who is very fluent in technology, which enables everything we do.

“Over the past three years, Shawn has done a great job restructuring our systems, both to serve our customers ever-better and also help ensure Ingram’s leadership position in an ever-changing industry. In particular, he has been our aggressive leader in the growth of VitalSource, which is the most utilized e-textbook platform in education today. Shawn is well prepared to help me and our leadership team execute the vision of where Ingram Content Group is heading in the next period.”

Ingram’s VitalSource currently serves more than 2.2 million users on 6,000 campuses in 180 countries. It gives both students and faculty access to tens of thousands of titles from the world’s leading textbook publishers. Ingram recently expanded its mobile capabilities with the release of an Android application. VitalSource is available on a range of devices including tablets, smart phones, laptops and desktops.

Mr. Morin came to Ingram from Bass Pro Shops, where he had served as CIO and Vice President of Information Technology. He previously held other leadership positions in the information technology field, including service as CIO of Royal Numico, N.V., in The Netherlands. Earlier in his career, he was a business analyst for Watkins Motor Lines and was lead engineer for Lockheed Space Operations Company at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

A native of St. Petersburg, Florida, Mr. Morin received his bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of South Florida. He is a pilot and a member of Nashville CIO Council.

He and his wife Nancy and their daughter Kelly reside in Franklin, Tennessee.
