Aug 9 – Aug 15, 2010 Edition Putnam to Release New Patricia Cornwell Novel This Fall

NEW YORK, NY/AUTHORLINK NEWS/August 12, 2010–Patricia Cornwell, the world’s #1 bestselling crime writer, has agreed to write two new novels featuring her beloved main character Dr. Kay Scarpetta for G. P. Putnam’s Sons and Berkley Books, her longtime U.S. publishers, it was announced today by David Shanks, CEO, Penguin Group (USA). Putnam will publish the books in hardcover, with Berkley to publish the titles in paperback. North American hardcover, paperback and audio rights to these two upcoming Cornwell works were acquired from literary agent Esther Newberg of International Creative Management (ICM).

Cornwell’s highly anticipated eighteenth Scarpetta novel, Port Mortuary, will be published in hardcover by Putnam on November 30, 2010. In this fast paced story, a treacherous path from Scarpetta’s past merges with the high-tech highway she now finds herself on. As chief of the new Forensic Center in Massachusetts, she is confronted with a case that could shut down her new facility and ruin her personally and professionally.
