Jan 10 – Jan 16, 2011 Edition Penguin Launches New Satellite TV-Radio Unit

New York, NY/AUTHORLINK NEWS/January 11, 2011—Dick Heffernan, President of Adult Hardcover and Children’s Sales, Penguin Group (USA), announced today the launch of the newly-created Penguin TV and Radio Satellite Media Tours department. The department will be led by Kristin Ilardi, who has been appointed Director, and Stephany Perez has been named Associate Director. Both positions are effective immediately.

Penguin Group (USA)’s new satellite media tours department will enable the company to produce TV and radio satellite tours for Penguin Group (USA)’s bestselling, award-winning, and prestigious list of adult and young readers authors.

Dick Heffernan commented: “Penguin Group (USA) is the first publishing company to bring these services in-house, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to break new ground with the launch of this program. Producing satellite media tours in-house will complement the efforts of Penguin’s publicity and marketing teams, as part of a comprehensive media and tour strategy set up to maximize the exposure of our authors.”

Penguin Group (USA) recently announced the creation of a new Media Suite facility, which features five fully-equipped, sound-proof rooms, with capabilities to facilitate radio broadcast, videotaping, audio and video editing, audiobook recording, and podcasting. The satellite media tours department will operate out of the media suite, located at Penguin Group (USA)’s New York headquarters, and will have full use of the technology available.

Kristin Ilardi has been with Penguin Group (USA) since 2004. Prior to this new role, she was Assistant Manager of Corporate Communications. Stephany Perez has been with the company since 2005, most recently in the capacity of Corporate Communications Associate. Both worked with Marilyn Ducksworth, Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications.
