Melton to Depart
As Vice President
of Baker & Taylor

CHARLOTTE, NC/7/29/08–James C. Melton, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Baker & Taylor, is leaving the company but will continue to stay as a consultant during a transition period. He has been with Baker & Taylor since 2004 and has served as CFO since 2006.

His departure comes only weeks after the company named Thomas I. Morgan (Authorlink, July 2008) as the new Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. In a statement, Morgan praised Melton for his "many outstanding contributions at Baker & Taylor," and said the company appreciates his dedication to its success.
