June 21 – 27, 2010 Edition Book Industry Group to Hold Standards Forum

The book publishing industry faces critical challenges in identifying the explosion of book formats and in providing practical ways for readers to discover the books and formats they are seeking. In their ongoing efforts to address these issues, the Book Industry Study Group, together with the National Information Standards Organization (NISO), will hold its Fourth Annual Standards Forum at the annual conference of the American Library Association June 25 in Washington DC. The forum will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p. that day.

The FREE program will focus on standards as they’re experienced by readers and other content consumers and will feature thought leadership on the critical areas of identification, discovery and format. Featured speakers and their topics include:
