Vintage Books announced today that its Vintage Shorts imprint will release 31 short story e-Books during the month of May (one each day) to celebrate Short Story Month. Featured selections include short story masters Raymond Carver, Andre Dubus, and Alice Munro; contemporary writers such as Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Jhumpa Lahiri, and Mary Gaitskill; and classic stories from Edgar Allan Poe, Willa Cather, and Langston Hughes. The month-long celebration will also include five original stories— from Alexander McCall Smith, Carrie Brown, Hari Kunzru, Patricio Pron, and the first-time U.S. publication of an original Maeve Binchy story.

For Short Story Month, the 31 Vintage Shorts will be priced at .99 each. Through Vintage Shorts, readers can dip into 5,000 to 30,000-word eBooks designed as 10 to 30-minute reads.
