Streitfeld Named

Senior Editor

At Ballantine

NEW YORK, NY/06/17/05—Anika Streitfeld, former fiction editor at mid-sized publisher MacAdam/Cage Publishing, has been named a senior editor at Ballantine, an imprint of Random House.

Streitfeld will report to Nancy Miller, under whom she began her editing career at Washington Square. Anika is best known for having edited the bestselling book, The Time Traveler’s Wife at MacAdam/Cage. She is also known for her more literary approach to titles.

She will join Ballantine in early August, and will be based in San Francisco, where she is expected to oversee about eight titles per year.

MacAdam Cage also lost editor Pat Walsh, who has been with the company since its founding. Walsh is leaving to devote full time to his own writing career. Penguin recently published his book, 78 Reasons Your Book May Never Be Published and 14 Reasons Why It Just Might. David Poinexter, publisher at MacAdam Cage, said he is now looking for editors to fill both posts.
