The Radio Television Digital News Foundation (RTDNF) has extended the application deadline for its scholarships and fellowships to May 31, 2014. College undergraduates and graduate students as well as young professional journalists are urged to apply now,  to ensure consideration for the coming year.

Several prestigious scholarships are offered for students pursuing careers in digital or broadcast media, including the $10,000 Ed Bradley Scholarship for undergraduates, in honor of the pioneering journalist and CBS News and 60 Minutes correspondent.  Fellowships for aspiring journalists in the first 10 years of their careers are available for national security and health beat reporters, as well as to minority journalists.

“We have received a large number of applications already, but we want to make sure every qualified candidate who wants to apply has a chance to do so by the end of the school year,” said Mike Cavender, RTDNF Executive Director. “The competition will be intense.”

Award recipients are additionally invited to the 2015 First Amendment Awards Dinner in Washington and Excellence in Journalism 2015 in Orlando, Florida.
