Sept 26 – Oct 2, 2011 Edition Penguin Names Tom Dussel Subsidiary Rights Director
NEW YORK, NY/September 29, 2011–Tom Dussel will be joining Penguin Group (USA) as the new Director of Subsidiary Rights, responsible for the Putnam, Berkley, Portfolio, Tarcher, Avery and Perigee lists, it was announced by Leigh Butler, Senior Vice President of Subsidiary Rights, Penguin Group (USA). Mr. Dussel will report to Ms. Butler and start on Monday, November 7.
Mr. Dussel has spent the last ten years working at Simon & Schuster Inc., selling foreign and domestic rights for the Free Press, Scribner and Howard Books imprints. As Subsidiary Rights Manager at Simon & Schuster, he handled sales for such bestselling titles as Inside Of A Dog by Alexandra Horowitz, several Kathy Reichs forensic thrillers, The 3rd Alternative and other titles by Stephen Covey, the YOU series of health books by Michael F. Roizen and Mehmet C. Oz, Its Your Time and other titles by Joel Osteen, and Entreleadership by Dave Ramsey. A native of Toledo, Ohio, he is a graduate of Denison University.
